I am the architect of my own catastrophy...

My mother has always been a creative person. Think Martha Stewart, but less sociopathic. She has many creative talents  that I have always admired, and have been fortunate enough to find some of in myself. One of the things we did together as a kid was to put on plays at the church. We would create everything that was seen on stage, from homemade backdrops, to props, and costumes. It was my introduction to what would become a passion and the direction of my life and career. Although the church stage no longer calls to me, the need to create lives in me still.  I also fostered a love of film at a young age. I was glued to the VHS player from my earliest memory. My mother will reminisce that I would become lost in a trance like state, escaped to another world.... It was my obsession, and became my motivation to learn and pursue. That ability to escape the realities of life and become completely lost in a story, to fire my imagination, it is that precise experience that I wish to share with others.

I went on to college with a hunger to discover new places, art forms, and people. I traveled the world as much as I could afford, when not working in bar rooms and listening to stories. The experiences I had in this time allowed me to come in to myself and embrace the world. They opened my eyes to different perspectives and cultures the effect of which continue to resonate in my daily life.

I began my career in film as soon as I finished college, and have been learning new things every day since. I have focused my career of over 10 years on learning every aspect of art and its execution, as well as its role in cinematic story telling. I now find myself as comfortable at the drawing table as I am in the workshop. I live every day pencil in hand ready to engage, ready to experience the next story.
